Thanks to its resistance and ability to reflect light, tempered glass is used for coffee tables, tables and furnishing accessories, in combination with marble and methacrylate, to enhance its transparency characteristics, offering a perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality.
What is tempered glass?
Tempered glass is a type of glass that is heat-treated to increase its resistance compared to normal glass. This process makes it extremely safe, as it shatters into small, non-cutting pieces in the event of breakage. This characteristic makes it ideal for luxury furnishings that require safety and robustness without compromising elegance.
Toolux Furnishing Complements with Tempered Glass
In the Toolux Design collections, tempered glass is used as a table top for the Reef and Medusa tables, offering a unique play on transparency, with an original effect of visual lightness in combination with Travertino marble and coloured methacrylate. In the Pagoda bookcase and the Mushroom coffee table the tempered glass acts as a vertical intersecting the methacrylate tops to stabilise the structure and give a very suggestive idea of transparency and luminosity.
Interesting facts about this material
Maybe not everyone knows that, in addition to its high impact resistance, tempered glass is also significantly more resistant to temperature variations than ordinary glass. This makes it ideal not only for interior design, but also for applications outdoors or in contact with heat sources. In fact, tempered glass can withstand temperatures of up to approximately 250°C without being damaged. Its ability to maintain stability under extreme conditions further underlines its versatility and robustness.
