Marble in the contemporary design of Toolux complements
Marble is an ancient material, a symbol of luxury and refinement, and Toolux Design has been able to reinterpret it in a modern key to create contemporary furnishing accessories with a unique design. Thanks to innovative combinations, Toolux offers objects and solutions that not only furnish, but also tell a story of elegance and durability.
The characteristics of marble, an exceptional material
Marble is a valuable natural stone, recognised for its beauty and versatility. Its main qualities include durability and impact resistance, making it ideal for floors, walls and sculptures. The variety of colours and veins available in different options makes it possible to choose the most suitable marble for each project, ensuring uniqueness and customisation. These characteristics make this stone an excellent choice for those seeking a refined and durable material, perfect for innovative experiments such as those of Toolux Design.
The types of marble chosen by Toolux
The marble used by Toolux is recycled: with a view to circularity, the brand recovers marble that would otherwise be destined to be discarded due to minor processing defects, thus giving new value to this already precious material.
In particular Toolux has selected these variants
– Calacatta marble, characterised by a warm white background with subtle, shaded veins ranging from grey to golden
– Carrara marble, quarried in the Apuan Alps, famous for its pure white colour and used in important architectural and sculptural works
– Travertine marble, characterised by warm colours and a porous surface
– Verde Alpi marble, known for its intense dark green colour with white veins, mainly used for luxury claddings and decorations.
Marble and methacrylate, the Toolux signature
The originality of the furnishing complements is reflected in the innovative combination of materials: marble is presented in unexpected but highly successful combinations with coloured methacrylate and tempered glass. In the Pagoda bookcase and the Mushroom coffee table, for example, the marble base supports the entire structure characterised by fluorescent colours. As in the cactus presented in different sizes: Bonsai, Saguaro and San Pedro. The best example of this harmony of materials is the Reef table: a block of Travertino marble crossed by a slab of coloured methacrylate is surmounted by a transparent tempered glass top, in a combination of elegance and innovation.
